Active Youth Club

Active Youth Club

The Active Youth Club is a free programme for young people aged 10-16 years to help improve their mental and physical wellbeing.

What are sessions like?

These FREE Active Youth Club sessions, are run by a qualified youth worker and Community Activator from the Living Better team.

Sessions are based in Peterborough and St Neots

The core structure of each weekly session includes stimulating physical activity or sport-based games, mentoring opportunities, and a space for support and guidance surrounding any issues that the young people may be experiencing.

At Living Better we champion youth voice, where young people are given the space and opportunity to make decisions and have their say. So, each session is completely unique and built around what the participating young people want to do and/or talk about.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I wear to sessions?

Wear comfortable clothing that you can move around in and trainers. If you don’t have trainers, we recommend wearing supportive, closed toe shoes.

What will mentoring look like?

Over the 16-weeks, you will be asked some questions relating to your wellbeing. Your answers to these questions will help inform the mentoring, coaching work within the sessions.

What if I need extra support outside of the sessions?

We advise that the young person speak with a trusted person. If a trusted person is not available, the below organisations can offer help.

Kooth is an online service providing free, safe and anonymous online support and counselling.

Nessie is a voluntary service that supports vulnerable children, young people, and their families with complex mental health needs who are struggling to access support.

Keep your head is a service which signposts reliable information on mental health and wellbeing for children, young people, adults, professionals and schools across Cambridgeshire & Peterborough.
