Dragon’s Den Style Workshops

Since 2019, our Dragon’s Den Style Workshops have been in mainstream primary and secondary schools and in community settings.

Our Dragon’s Den Style Workshop model promotes youth voice and provides a platform for young people to create and implement their own extra-curricular physical activities.

Empowering young people to shape and participate in activities that work better for them.

Dragon’s Den Style Workshops showcase the transformative power of physical activity and movement. They help less active or less engaged students to get involved with physical activity.

Funded clubs include glow in the dark multi-sports, archery tag, street surfing, footgolf, and kinball.

What are the benefits of the Dragon’s Den Style Programme?

Living Better’s FREE Dragon’s Den Style Workshops are designed to fit seamlessly around school scheduling and gives teachers a powerful way to develop key curriculum‑aligned skills in an engaging, hands‑on format. As pupils work together to shape and pitch their ideas, they strengthen essential abilities such as planning, budgeting, and adaptability that mirror real‑world problem solving. The process also nurtures confident presentation techniques, fun and engaging marketing strategies, and encourages strong teamwork. The aim of the programme is to engage children in physical activity more generally but it also empowers youth voice, encourages motivation, collaboration, and a willingness to take ownership of their learning – making the workshops a valuable extension of personal development and careers‑related learning.

And of course, the winning pitch will receive £1000 in funding from Living Better to bring their club to life!

Workshop successes

Living Better’s Dragon’s Den style workshops ignite big ideas and even bigger confidence in young people. Bursting with energy, teamwork and creativity, these sessions give participants the chance to step up, pitch bold ideas, and discover the power of their own voice. From first spark to final pitch, young people leave buzzing with new skills, fresh ambition and a real sense of what they can achieve.

Dragon's Den Style Workshops 2024/25

The primary goal is to empower students to pitch their ideas for physical activity or sports clubs to their schools. We continuously develop the model to benefit more students, especially those who don’t typically engage with extra-curricular physical activity. During the 2024/25 year, 58 ideas were pitched to panels and we awarded £10,000 in grants to start different clubs. Fun club highlights include pickleball, zorb football, and darts.
