Multisport
Together with Sport England, we are creating inclusive multisport activities in Peterborough and Fenland.
Creating connected communities in Peterborough and Fenland
Together with Sport England, we are rolling out the Multisport Strategic Fund, which works to create sustainable, inclusive opportunities for people to be active in Peterborough and Fenland.
Across our communities, too many people still face barriers to getting active – whether that’s due to cost, lack of local facilities, or activities that don’t feel welcoming or accessible. Through our Multisport work, we are tackling these challenges head‑on to ensure everyone has the opportunity to move more and live better.
Our mission is simple:
- Improve physical and mental wellbeing
- Build stronger, more connected communities
- Inspire lifelong participation in sport and physical activity

About the Multisport programme
Through this programme, we are able to create long‑term, meaningful change by:
- Expanding access to sport and physical activity on Football Foundation–funded sites, activating new PlayZones and 3G pitches built in the last two years.
- Addressing inequalities in participation, with a focus on underrepresented groups including women and girls, disabled people, culturally diverse communities, and those living in areas of deprivation.
- Strengthening community sports by developing community champions, Move More Ambassadors, volunteers, and local leadership.
- Delivering targeted interventions focused on diversion, mental health, and inclusion.
- Creating lasting outcomes for health and wellbeing.
Move More Ambassadors
Inspiring healthier, happier communities through movement
Move More Ambassadors are local people who help communities to move more in a way that suits them.
Our Ambassadors are passionate individuals who help people to be more physically active in everyday life. By leading through example, sharing motivation, and creating positive conversations around wellbeing, ambassadors play an important role in building healthier and happier communities and workplaces.
As part of our programme, we offer different types of Move More Ambassadors to better reflect communities and ensure we are targeting all age ranges.
