Our Mission

At Living Better we believe in the transformative power of physical activity.

Living Better is a charity dedicated to improving health, happiness, and wellbeing across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Our mission is simple, to help people and communities move more and live better.

We are here to support more people in being more active. Movement is a low-cost, high-impact intervention that prevents and treats chronic illness, improves mental health, and strengthens communities.

Our Mission and work

By developing and delivering impactful programmes, forming partnerships, and embedding activity into local systems and policies, we aim to be part of the solution for building healthier, stronger communities.

Our work is made possible by the generous support of our funders, donors, and grant providers. Their contributions empower us to create sustainable and meaningful change in the communities we serve.

Where do we work?

At Living Better, we are committed to reducing inactivity and tackling physical activity inequalities across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. we ensure that every community has access to inclusive sport opportunities and pathways to active, healthier lives.

By taking a place-based working approach, we can prioritise areas with the most need. We work hard to build strong partnerships with community representatives and changemakers to respond directly to local need and co‑create sustainable systems that support active living.

Socioeconomic Inequalities

Reducing barriers for communities facing challenges like lower incomes, unemployment, and limited facility access to offer equitable opportunities.

Health Disparities

Delivering targeted interventions in areas with high rates of long-term health conditions, such as obesity, heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, and mental health challenges, to inspire active lifestyles and improve outcomes.

Limited Access to Facilities

Collaborating with schools, community groups, and councils to enhance access to infrastructure.

Sport England

As an Active Partnership, we are part of a national network supported by Sport England. Up and down the country we are united in our mission, working to transform lives and affect widespread social change. Our focus is on creating conditions in communities that enable sustainable positive impact.

Together, we address the challenges that prevent people from leading active lives in our areas, while promoting inclusivity, tackling inequalities, and removing barriers to participation.
