School Games
School Games is a national, government-led programme that aims to inspire children and young people to get moving and be more physically active.
The School Games values are passion, self-belief, respect, honesty, determination, teamwork, and eco-friendly. These values are embedded into school competitions, from local to national levels, and serve as a framework for rewarding positive behaviours rather than just ‘winning’.
Cambridgeshire and Peterborough School Games
Sport England supports us to facilitate the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough School Games programme in partnership with School Games Organisers and School Sports Partnerships. All School Games events are completely FREE for schools to enter and are designed to engage primary and secondary pupils who will benefit most from being physically active.
Rather than focusing solely on competition or sporting performance, the programme creates inclusive events that inspire every child to take part, have fun, and enjoy being active.

Our School Games programme vision
Our School Games Programme focuses on supporting disadvantaged young people in a place-based approach. Working in a place-based way means we can break down barriers to participation, with support from School Games Organisers, in the areas that need the most help.
We empower meaningful change for the lives of children and young people by offering inclusive opportunities to all schools across the county. There are also opportunities for additional work and events for specific cohorts of children and young people, such as our annual Colour Run, Dodgeball Leadership Festivals, and various place-based events. We are excited to work with the Lead Inclusion School for the county, Northstowe Martin Bacon Academy, to deliver inclusive events for all.

Bringing together children and local people who are passionate and driven about health and wellbeing is at the heart of our purpose. Today was that in action and the generosity of everyone makes it happen – in the current climate hearing laugher and the community coming together is uplifting.
