About Stronger Together Veterans
Thanks to the generous support and funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, we have launched our Stronger Together Veterans project.
The Stronger Together Veterans project supports Armed Forces veterans in Huntingdonshire to improve their physical and mental wellbeing while reducing isolation and loneliness. The programme focuses on helping veterans stay active, build confidence and form meaningful social connections in a supportive, community‑led environment.
We deliver three 12‑week programmes of inclusive, accessible physical activity, all co‑created with veterans to ensure sessions reflect their interests, abilities and needs.
If you’re an Armed Forces veteran living in Huntingdonshire and would like to improve your fitness, wellbeing, and social connections in a relaxed, supportive environment, we’d love to hear from you.
Whether you’re new to physical activity or looking for a welcoming group to stay active with, the Stronger Together Veterans project is open, inclusive and shaped around what you enjoy. Come along, give it a try and be part of something built by veterans, for veterans.

What the sessions include
Sessions are shaped through consultation with each group and are primarily based on our Golden Games low‑impact approach.
Programmes begin with a series of active taster sessions, allowing participants to try a range of enjoyable activities and share feedback on what they enjoy most.
Based on this feedback, we have supplied each group with high quality equipment and include an upskilling phase. During this stage, volunteers and attendees are supported to develop the skills and confidence to lead activities themselves, helping embed physical activity into their regular routines and ensuring long‑term sustainability.
We are currently delivering with the Royal British Legion Brampton NAAFI Club and we have completed a consultation with Ramsey Breakfast Club, helping inform future delivery and opportunities for engagement.
